How to Insert Images into Excel in 60 Seconds

Microsoft Excel is often used for business cases, but that doesn't mean that we can't add multimedia like images to a spreadsheet. Let's learn how to insert an image into Excel.

How to Insert Images Into Excel Quickly

1. Find and Insert an Image

On the Insert tab, click on Illustrations > Pictures. 

Now browse to the image that's stored on your computer and insert it.

Once the image is in Excel, click and drag to reposition it in the spreadsheet. You can always grab one of the corners to resize and scale it on the spreadsheet. If you're working on the Pictures Tool Format tab on the ribbon, there are a variety of options to customize the image.

2. Add a Border to Your Image

Let's customize the image by adding a border. By clicking on Picture Border drop-down and choosing a color, you could also add one of the preset borders by clicking on one of the thumbnails

3. Use an Image as a Background

Use images in Excel to set up backgrounds for your spreadsheet by sending them to the back. 

Right-click the image, and choose Send to Back in order to send the image behind the content that's in your spreadsheet cells.
