'Brave' browser promises up to 60% faster speed by blocking ads

Brave may be the new browser that haters of intrusive online ads have been looking for — it claims to block ads, block third-party trackers and speed up browsing.

One big caveat, though: After removing third-party ads, Brave puts in its own advertising.

The new browser is the work of Brendan Eich, the former CEO and co-founder of Mozilla and creator of JavaScript, who stepped out of his position at Mozilla in 2014 after criticism for supporting the ban on gay marriage. Brave Software is his new venture, and the goal is to keep away "bad" ads that invade privacy and slow down your browser, replacing them with "clean" ads. Read more...
