Sequoia Capital is indeed in the process of raising a total of some $1 billion for a series of several new venture funds, we've confirmed with sources close to the situation. The new raise is currently underway, and its structure as of now underlines the storied Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm's increasing focus on having a global footprint.
