Me: An introduction

Hello, World.

I'm Ricardo, a web developer from The Netherlands, building apps for the web and beyond. I've been having an account here on DEV.TO for a while, but I never really used it much and never took the time to introduce myself. Gladly, time === now();

I'm currently hired as an active employee at BYRON, a strategy and branding agency based in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. In this role, I perform a variety of tasks ranging from building websites (my main task), maintaining systems (dev-ops) to improving the developers' experience. We mostly work with WordPress, but I've also built and integrated a Vue 3 (Vite + TypeScript) based application in the past 3 months, for example.

What I like the most of working at BYRON: The positive working environment, the freedom to come up with new ideas, both in technical and non-technical sense, and the great variety of clients we are creating things for.

Enough about BYRON. Besides my daytime job at BYRON, I'm contributing to free and open source software via GitHub, where my preference goes to working with Vue 3, Nuxt 3, React (Next.js) and Go. I'm using Debian GNU/Linux as my daily OS, am active as one of the Dutch Language Leads at Proton (which started as a way to kill time) and I like doing creative-but-technical things like 3D printing.

I've written plenty of blog posts, but haven't published them yet. It includes articles like "How to create a Masonry-style (Pinterest-like) layout with Flexbox" to "How to compile Signal Messenger for a Raspberry Pi 4". So my main goals for now are:

• Finishing migrating my website from VuePress 2 to Nuxt 3
• Connecting it to a Headless CMS like Storyblok, Sanity.io, etc.
• Publishing those blog posts (to my website && here on dev.to)

Last, but not least When I'm not glued to my screen, I spend my time in some creative outlets: photography, filming, cooking and exploring new places. I have an account on Unsplash @Brightshots, where I have uploaded some of my photos.
