How to Add Realistic Cracks

In this lesson, Lewis Moorhead will show you how to bring the rock to life with realistic effects. Add cracks to the foreground rock elements using Layer Masks and a fiery lava pattern.

How to Create Realistic Smoke Effects

Once you're finished with the initial cracks, then move on to adding smoke. This lesson will show you how to add smoke in two unique ways: first by using amazing smoke images, and then by creating a custom smoke brush.

How to Adjust the Smoke Highlights

Continue adjusting the smoke to make it pop! In this lesson, we'll add more smoke while fixing the main smoke shapes. Just like before, we'll use another New Layer set to Color Dodge to add bright highlights onto the smoke.
