Redesigned 'slim' PlayStation 4 is real, confirmed in video

UPDATED Aug. 22 11:19 a.m. ET It now seems all but certain that the "slim" PlayStation 4 is a real thing. European website Eurogamer obtained what it claims is the redesigned console, and it's hard to refute video footage of the thing turning on and booting to the dashboard.

All of the questions raised below remain unanswered, but the already-likely-to-be-real PS4 redesign just got another piece of compelling evidence that supports its existence.

Seller Adam is offering what appears to be a boxed-for-retail PlayStation 4 that looks distinctly different from any version of the console that's been sold to date.
