Watch this tiny car drive through Santa Cruz with a 360 view

You might be surprised to know that we did not fly a drone over a car to make this video. The swirly, oddly mesmerizing video you see here is comprised of a four-camera system stitched together in real time to create a live 360 view of the automobile’s surroundings. Around View Monitor (AVM), as it is known, is one of many in-car technology features being introduced in more vehicles on the road.

This demo car, powered by Ambarella video processing combines a front, two side-view and a rear-view camera to create this unique view. We recorded a direct feed from the car and mashed it up to make this fun little “bird’s eye” view drive around Santa Cruz, California. Read more...
