Amazon thinks its new shopping day will put Black Friday to shame

Amazon is about to turn 20, and to mark the occasion, it's giving Prime members access to a sale event it's billing as bigger than Black Friday

The Prime Day sale, which is being promoted on Amazon's homepage, begins at 12 a.m. PT on July 15 and will push out new deals as quickly as every 10 minutes for 24 hours

The sales will run across all departments, including electronics, appliances and apparel, and could appear as lightning deals and deals of the day.
