Yahoo Disses Gmail on Twitter, Then Backtracks

Yahoo has apologized for a tweet from its main Twitter account that noted Google's Gmail had suffered an outage.

The tweet, which has since been deleted, simply noted: "Gmail is temporarily unavailable" and included a screen shot to prove it.

Yahoo later tweeted an apology.

The @Yahoo Twitter handle is used by our editorial team to inform about news and events.

Earlier today, a tweet that reflected bad judgment was posted and has been deleted. We apologize to @Google and the @Gmail team.
