HTC improves performance in Q2 2013, makes $41.6 million
Though HTC fell shy of the $66.7 million in earnings investors were looking for in Q2 2013, at least it's a marked improvement over last quarter's disaster. HTC managed to improve profits to $41.6 million on $2.4 billion worth of revenue, riding demand for its flagship One model along with the ability to finally produce it in numbers. However, all that pales over last year, when the company earned $250 million on $3 billion in revenue. According to Reuters, the problems in the quarter occurred towards the end, as sales for June fell 26.4 percent over last year's numbers -- a trend it no doubt hopes won't continue into Q3.
