White House Deletes Google Reader Petition

Sorry, Google Reader fans: You probably won't be getting support from the leader of the free world any time soon.

The White House has deleted a petition calling for President Barack Obama to ask Google to think over its decision to shutter Google Reader.

"We request that the President formally ask Google to reconsider," read the petition which made the argument that Google Reader's APIs power a wealth of third-party apps and thus contribute in a small way to the American economy.

The petition, which appeared a few hours after Google announced the decision Wednesday evening, barely gathered a few hundred votes before being removed Thursday morning
