Heres How Firefox OS Will Work on Smartphones


If you think it's hard enough to pick a smartphone from the four major platforms -- iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone -- just you wait. The first phones to run Firefox OS are coming soon, and they're making their first public appearance at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Similar to webOS, Firefox OS is a web-based platform, with all apps and core functions based on web standards such as HTML5. Since those standards are well known and many apps have web-based versions, it will be theoretically a simple matter for developers to export apps to Firefox OS.
