Farewell, Faithful Old iPad 2?

After upgrading to the new iPad back in March, I was left with the problem of what to do with a perfectly functional iPad 2.

Solution: Since my mother had never owned a tablet, I would load it up with apps, books and music she'd love, then hand-deliver it to the UK for her birthday this month.

It got a warm reception and reminded me there are still a whole world of people who are just getting turned on to the joys of lean-back tablet living -- and for whom the resolution of the screen doesn't really matter so much.
