43 Best Stencil Fonts for Cricut (& Cricut Stencil Ideas)


Stencils are such a versatile tool to use in crafting, and some of my favourite Cricut stencil ideas are to use them on cookies, coffee foam, and even to decorate polymer clay! There are so many different fonts you can use to make stencils with your Cricut, and you can relatively easily make your own stencil font with your Cricut.

A fantastic use of stencils is to have some fun designs stencilled onto a cappuccino!

Choosing the correct Cricut stencil font is one of the most important parts of your project, and with so many perfect stencil fonts to choose from, you can't go wrong. Let's go!


1. Aquila (OTF & TTF)

This is one of the best stencil fonts, as it is not only very clean but also doesn't look like a typical stencil font and has a lot of class!


2. Helomate (OTF & TTF)

This is another font that has a very unique design element, so the stencil font letters look very atypical!


3. Quas (OTF)

This is the best stencil font for Cricut if you are looking for a font that has a classic look and feel, and it's also a very professional-looking font.

This Cricut stencil font is a very thin typeface, and it isn't immediately noticeable as a stencil font, which is why it is one of my favourites!


Fancy Fonts


There are a number of Cricut stencil fonts that are perfect for your more classic and upmarket project types, and these may be exactly what you are looking for!

This stencil font for Cricut has a very subtle stencil look, and it is almost not even noticeable, which is why it is top of my list here!

This font has use of the stencil type as well as flourishes, which makes this a very classy font to use for stencils!


3. Angel Stencil (OTF & TTF)

The way that this font is set up, the stencil elements are carried throughout every letter, which means the stencil type of this font isn't even noticeable, making it a great font for stencils!


4. Arcane (OTF)

Simplicity at its finest. This font also carries the characteristics through the entire font, and the elements that make it a stencil for Cricut add a lot of class!

The flourishes on this font are subtle but still very classy, and the thin edges make this a very nice font for Cricut projects.

I chose this stencil font because of the embellishments and flourishes. It has a real classic beauty about it, making this one of the best stencil fonts for Cricut.


Strong and Bold Fonts


1. Swish (OTF & TTF)

Not only does this font have a 3D look to it, but it is also perfect for a stencil. This particular font opens up so many avenues and gives me so many Cricut stencil ideas!

I can see myself making great stencils with my Cricut with this font. It gives a very professional look, and again, while it is a stencil font, you don't realise that it is a stencil font!

Another very classy and bold stencil font, this font reminds me of a high-end fashion line. It would be perfect for so many different applications, all of which of course include the name stencilled on a surface somewhere.


4. Stargaze (OTF)

You could do some great Cricut stencil cutting with this font. It is a very sci-fi type font, and perfect for your futuristic projects.


5. Mind the Gap (OTF)

Not only is this a very typical stencil font, but it also has a very rustic and textured look to it, making it a very solid choice for any Cricut stencil project.


6. Darbots (OTF & TTF)

This is another one of those fonts where the stencil theme has been applied to every letter, which carries the theme right the way through, and I love it for that reason. That makes it the perfect Cricut stencil font material.

This font has the same feel as the one above it, and it has an additional feeling of an army type font. It's perfect for a more masculine Cricut stencil project.

As we can see, this is a solid military font, and it definitely has a no-nonsense feeling about it!

How to Turn a Font Into a Stencil for Your Cricut


You may wonder "What fonts work to make a Cricut stencil?" Well, we have covered a selection of different fonts that are already stencil fonts for Cricut, and now we are going to look at some great fonts that you can turn into a Cricut stencil font.


There are a few different things you will want to look out for when converting a font to a stencil font, and be sure to check out all of the fonts below for the different things to look out for on how to make a stencil font with Cricut!


Soft Fonts


Here are 11 softer fonts to start us off!

If I can make a stencil with my Cricut, then this is the font I would use! It's a nice easy font to start off with, as this one also comes with some symbols as well.

Although this font looks complicated, it is still very simple, and it would make a great font to change into a stencil font.

If you want to know how to turn a font into a stencil for Cricut, this is the perfect font to test it out on! It has open lettering, no closed spaces, and easy-to-read letters.

I chose this font for its clean lines and classy look. Those clean lines turn this cut font into a great font for stencil in Cricut.


5. Rieban (OTF & TTF)

This font is for the bold ones who want something a bit more challenging because of the swishes, but once you have tried it out on some of the other fonts above, perhaps this could be a good font to change into a stencil font!

This is a very delicate font that you can change into a Cricut stencil font. It's one of my favourites because it has a classic beauty about it.

The soft edges and sharp lines on this stylish font make it very easy to change this font into a stencil.

The sharp edges and flourishes on this font allow us to easily convert it into a stencil font without losing any of its style.


Bold Fonts


Here are ten fonts that have a stronger, bolder look to them that you can convert to a stencil font.


1. Montera (OTF & TTF)

This is the first font in the list of bold fonts, and with strategic placement of the joining lines when converting this font into a stencil, it could make for quite a cute stencil font!


2. Indonesia (OTF & TTF)

I had to include a few very simple fonts that are easy to convert, and the clean, sharp lines on this font make adding joins to the letters a lot easier.

When making a Cricut stencil, vinyl is a great option, and using vinyl when you have converted this font is a great idea.


4. Bronzier (OTF & TTF)

Again, this font made the list because of its strong, flat edges, and when you do convert this font, it will look as though it was designed that way!

This modern font has a typeface that tapers off into the joins, and because of that you can quite easily add a join to connect the portions that might otherwise fall out when you cut this Cricut stencil out of vinyl.


6. Arkibal (OTF & TTF)

At least one of the fonts in this pack is perfect to be converted into a stencil font for the same reason as the others—it has strong, clean, straight lines, making it a strong candidate for one of the best stencil fonts for Cricut.


7. Miftah (OTF & TTF)

This font has parts that have thin connections to the rest of the letter, so it's easy to break the connection there and create the stencil font that we all want. It also has small flourishes, which give this font a touch of whimsy.

The different weights on the top and the bottom of the letters make certain parts of this font easier to connect than the thicker counterpart. It also often means that the eye is drawn to the thicker part of the font, so you may not notice it as much!

This font combines both of the aspects from the previous two fonts: the connections are thin, and other parts of the letters are thicker. This is a great font to practise how to make a stencil font with Cricut.

Parts of this font taper off into thinner sections where they connect with the rest of the word, so you probably won't even notice that this font has been altered into a Cricut stencil font.
