Netflix just jacked up its prices again

If you thought you already paid too much for Netflix, think again.

The brand perhaps most synonymous with on-demand streaming quietly hiked its pricing this week. The standard Netflix plan is now $14 per month, a $1 monthly jump from before. On top of that, the premium plan is now worth $18 monthly, which is a $2 increase from before. Going from standard to premium unlocks 4K streaming and allows for more concurrent streams.

Netflix's basic plan, which only allows for one stream at a time and doesn't even offer HD quality, is still $9 per month. The last time Netflix raised its prices was in early 2019, so the old rates survived a little less than two years before Netflix felt the need to squeeze more money out of subscribers.
