Twitter is filling your feed with more useless notifications

Twitter is adding more useless clutter to its notifications.

The company quietly added a suite of new alerts to the notifications section of its apps and website. Now, instead of just seeing notifications when people interact with you and your tweets, Twitter will surface random alerts about what people you follow are doing.

It's similar to the push notifications Twitter has been tinkering with for more than a year, but it's the first time the company's rolled these alerts out to the notifications tab more widely.

A Twitter spokesperson confirmed the change and said it's part of the company's ongoing efforts to help users find interesting content.  Read more...
