How to Spell-Check Your PowerPoint Slides in 60 Seconds

There's nothing worse than a spelling mistake in your presentation that distracts your audience. In this video, I'll teach you how to avoid this easy-to-fix issue by using spell-check in PowerPoint—in just 60 seconds.

Note: In this tutorial we use the popular Simplicity PowerPoint Template. You can find more great PowerPoint templates on GraphicRiver as well.

How to Spell-Check in PowerPoint (Quickly)

Note: Watch this short tutorial screencast or follow the quick steps that compliment this video.

1. Open PowerPoint Spelling to Start Spell-Check

First up, let's find the Review button on the PowerPoint ribbon and click on it. To start the spell-check process, we'll click on Spelling here on the far left side.

2. When to Ignore All in PowerPoint Spellcheck

On the right side, we've got a slick panel to review any possible mistakes in the presentation. If you've ever used spellcheck in Microsoft Word, this'll be very familiar.

The first thing it's flagged is an incorrect use of the word "powerpoint," which should be capitalized as "PowerPoint." However, this was intentional and stylistic, so I'll go ahead and press Ignore All to skip over each use of this in my template.

3. When to Apply Change or Change All to Spelling

Now PowerPoint has found a legitimate spelling mistake. So I'll go ahead and press Change. If I might have made this same mistake somewhere else, I'll go ahead and press Change All just to be safe.

4. How to Add Terms to PowerPoint's Dictionary

Finishing Up!

The Spelling feature is great because you can perform these reviews right inside of PowerPoint quickly.
