The stunning moment Whitehouse.gov changed hands

A lot of moving pieces shift during the peaceful transition of one presidential administration to another, not the least of which is the online visage of those administrations: Whitehouse.gov.

As Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States, was taking the oath of office on the steps of the Capitol, the official web site of the administration was undergoing a radical change.

In the days leading up to the inauguration, Whitehouse.gov, which featured former President Barack Obama's name at the very top next to "The White House," looked back at Obama's legacy and featured a large image of Obama walking to the White House overlaid with the words "Yes, we did, yes we can." Below, it offered a survey of Obama's accomplishments while in office in a number of key areas, including Healthcare, Climate and Energy, Equality and Social Progress and Economic Progress.
