When it comes to holiday shopping and Black Friday deals, it's important to remember one thing: just because something is discounted doesn't automatically make it worth buying.

Buying something at reduced cost feels like winning a contest or gaming the system — that's by design. There's a reason bargain shopping is so addicting: the anticipation of finding a killer deal actually pumps the brain full of dopamine.
