Netflix CEO says the company is not working on virtual reality content

In September 2015, Netflix launched an app allowing customers to watch shows and movies using headsets such as the Oculus Rift, but it seems like the streaming giant won't be pushing into virtual reality content of its own just yet.

In an interview with Mashable France, Netflix cofounder and CEO Reed Hastings said the company was not currently developing proprietary virtual reality content, despite having already built a virtual living room where you can watch Orange is the New Black in peace.

"We're really focused on movies and TV shows and doing more of those, which you can watch in a virtual reality headset if you want to," he said, "but we think most people will watch Netflix on a smartphone or a smart TV." Read more...
