Apple expands on ResearchKit with user-focused CareKit

Apple announced at its spring event on Monday an expansion on ResearchKit called CareKit that focuses on the health and care of users. ResearchKit is an app for iPhone that allows people to easily participate in medical research used by doctors and researchers in several fields.

Apple found that with the data people were inputting into ResearchKit, it could find differences in how users responded to different forms of care. CareKit, coming in April, allows users to view that data themselves and see how they are responding to care. By showing how people react to different medicines or therapies, CareKit allows people and caretakers see what is working and what they should potentially change. Read more...
