Amazon is offering refunds on all hoverboards, U.S. consumer safety agency says

Hoverboards have been blowing up and causing dads to fall on their butts for months now, and at least one retailer has apparently decided to throw in the towel.

Amazon has chosen to give full refunds to any customers who bought a hoverboard, according to U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Chairman Elliot F. Kaye.

In a statement Wednesday, Kaye said he was "pleased that at least one leading retailer is erring on the side of caution." He referred disgruntled hoverboard owners to Amazon's contact page to claim their refund.

"I want to commend Amazon for voluntarily stepping up, providing a free remedy and putting customer safety first," Kaye said. Read more...
