Netflix expands into 130 more countries and announces new original series

LAS VEGAS — Netflix CEO Reed Hastings announced Wednesday at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show that the popular streaming service has expanded into 130 countries more countries as a part of an effort to spark major growth.

The company has officially launched its website in India, Vietnam, Nigeria, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia and dozens of other countries where access to high-speed Internet is rapidly increasing. Netflix is looking for more ways to boost its user base outside the U.S., where an uptick in new subscriptions has stalled.
