Line's newest app is all about hashtags

Messaging giant Line just launched a new standalone app and it has nothing to do with stickers or games.

Instead, the new app, called Tale, is a social app that's a bit of a cross between Reddit and Twitter, with user-generated posts grouped by hashtags that are upvoted and downvoted.

Create an account or log in with your Facebook credentials (oddly enough, logging in with your Line account isn't an option) and the app shows you a feed of hashtag-based categories. Tap on a hashtag to dive in and see a feed of popular posts.

Tale posts are a lot like what you would find on Imgur or Reddit: Each post consists of at least one hashtag (though you can have up to three per post) as well as text, photos, hyperlinks, doodles or videos.
