The iOS 9 feature that keeps your apps 'thin' is now operational

One of the most important new features in iOS 9, at least for owners of 16GB and 8GB iPhones, was App Thinning, which lets developers slim down their apps by only delivering the parts your particular device actually need. A key part of that feature, called "app slicing," did not go live with iOS 9 due to an iCloud bug, leaving users with the same old bloated apps

Now, in a note to developers, Apple announced that the issue was fixed in the latest iOS update, 9.0.2.

"The issue affecting app slicing has been fixed, and device-specific versions of apps will be delivered when downloaded by users running iOS 9.0.2 or later," the company wrote in the note Monday. Read more...
