Your AT&T 'unlimited' data plan just got a lot better

If you're an AT&T mobile customer who's hanging on to an unlimited data plan, you might finally start get something close to what you're paying for.

Following a $100 million fine from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) earlier this summer, AT&T announced changes to its unlimited data program Tuesday. Customers will now get up to 22GB of data per month before the company will begin throttling their service.

The FCC's fine followed a claim by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that AT&T had been slowing down customers' data since 2011, with the company sometimes slowing speeds up to 90% after customers used just 2GB in a billing cycle.
