Google Cardboard, first introduced at Google's I/O developers conference in 2014 and now released widely, is a simple box structure that uses lenses and magnets to deliver a virtual reality (VR) experience from A$10 online. And you can always build your own with a bit of velcro and a rubber band.
It's still early days for VR apps and Google's budget headset — it's hard to block out ambient light and the user interface can be clumsy — but there are definitely some experiences worth trying now. Read more...
