U.S. Employees: Work-Life Balance Is Non-Existent in Connected Age

If you're having trouble finding that perfect work-life balance, you aren't alone.

U.S. employees continue to struggle with the nuances of working as hard as they can, while also ensuring they're taking a enough time for themselves, according to a new study from Randstad.

This is especially true when it comes to taking full advantage of vacation days and remaining connected to work outside of normal business hours. Specifically, 42% of employees feel obligated to check in with work while on vacation and more than a quarter feel guilty using all of their allotted vacation time. Part of the problem workers have in disengaging while on vacation is that many feel it helps them get back quickly into the swing of things when their time away from the office is over.
