Late Show host David Letterman, the longest-running late night talk show, is retiring in 2015 after 31 years in the business, according to several reports

Letterman hosted Late Night on NBC from 1982 to 1993 before starting Late Show on CBS in 1993. In 2013, he surpassed Johnny Carson as the longest-running late night talk show in television history
