Kickstarter Pledges Hit $913 Per Minute in 2013, With Few Breakout Hits

Some 3 million people pledged a cumulative $480 million for Kickstarter projects in 2013, a 50% jump over the amount pledged in 2012, according to the company, though there were few breakout hits.

The figure, which works out to $1.3 million a day or $913 a minute, funded 19,911 projects throughout the year. In its annual roundup, Kickstarter highlighted some of the most notable projects:
