Like Ben Stiller's character running to save the day in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, holiday revelers ran to theaters to save themselves from boredom on Christmas Day.

Among the Dec. 25 releases, Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street attracted the most moviegoers, finishing No. 2 with a $9.2 million pull at the Christmas Day box office in North America — behind Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ($9.3 million)
