Super Typhoon Haiyan roared through the Philippines with sustained winds up to 195 miles per hour, making it a candidate for the strongest storm ever observed

On Friday afternoon Eastern time, Haiyan's wind speeds have slowed down to 130 miles per hour and will gradually weaken as it approaches Vietnam's eastern coast on Saturday.
