YouTube Debuts New Windows Phone App After Microsoft-Google Battle

An updated, native YouTube app for Windows is back in the Windows Phone store, following a fight between Microsoft and Google over app advertisements.

Earlier this year, the Redmond, Wash., and Mountain View, Calif., companies bickered over Microsoft failing to include advertising on the YouTube app. Google, which owns the video-sharing site, then demanded that Microsoft take YouTube off the Windows Phone OS because of its lack of ads. The tech giants eventually made amends in May, and worked together to ensure compliance with each other's rules.
