If popularity on Twitter translates to votes, as new research suggests, Newark Mayor Cory Booker will win the New Jersey special election primary on Tuesday.

One of the most popular politicians on Twitter, Booker (@CoryBooker), is vying for the Democratic nomination for a Senate seat that opened when Frank Lautenberg passed away on June 3. Booker's opponents include U.S. Representatives Frank Pallone (@FrankPallone) and Rush Holt (@RushHolt), as well as Sheila Oliver (@SheilaOliverNJ), speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly
