Ender's Game Battles Controversy at Comic-Con

Ender's Game, the forthcoming adaptation of the sci-fi classic by Orson Scott Card, has run into trouble over the author's antagonistic gay rights views. As an LGBT group called Geeks Out plans to lead a boycott of the movie, producers at Lionsgate are working overtime to deflect the controversy.

Lionsgate has reiterated its support for the LGBT community and plans to hold a premiere to benefit LGBT groups. The studio is also going full steam ahead with promoting the movie at Comic-Con in San Diego, where stars Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield will appear later Thursday. (Card will not.)

Look across from the San Diego Convention Center and you'll see a giant bunker dedicated to the movie. That's where Lionsgate has brought the sets, costumes, and clips from the forthcoming film. The studio may well wish this is one bunker impervious to attack
