A drop of pitch, captured on camera, after 69years
After 69 years, scientists at Dublin's Trinity College have finally captured footage of a drop of pitch separating and falling. Pitch is a highly viscous fluid -- "2 million times more viscous than honey, or 20 billion times the viscosity of water" -- and experiments in Dublin and Australia have been running for decades, trying to capture the moment at which a drop drops.     |
