Zimmerman Not Guilty Verdict Fuels #JusticeForTrayvon on Twitter

After a Florida jury found George Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin Saturday, Twitter reacted with a firestorm of protest and anger.

Zimmerman, 29, a neighborhood watch volunteer who fatally shot the 17-year-old black teenager last February in Sanford, Fla., was also acquitted of a lesser charge of manslaughter. Zimmerman said he shot an unarmed Martin in self-defense, according to The New York Times. The case and trial spurred a U.S.-wide debate on racial profiling.
