AP Twitter Hack Falsely Claims Explosions at White House

White-house-building

The Associated Press falsely tweeted on Tuesday news that the White House was subjected to two explosions and President Obama had been injured. The message was a part of an alleged hack on the wire service's Twitter account.

"Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured," the AP tweeted.

The @AP Twitter account — which has since been suspended — quickly clarified the account had been compromised. Twitter users were also fast to debunk the claims, and AP staffers took to the site to announce it was hacked

All: The main @ap Twitter account has been hacked, The tweets coming out of there are false. We are working to correct the problem.
