Yes, Virginia is for lovers. But when it comes to talking about love on social media? Not so much.

To find out where in America the pulse of Valentine's Day is strongest, social media analysis firm Crimson Hexagon examined 2.1 million conversation threads on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other online forums in the first two weeks of February, and gave the results exclusively to Mashable.

The company gathered comments containing Valentine, Valentines, Valentines Day or V-Day, but discounted posts mentioning My Bloody Valentine or Marilyn Mansons 'Valentines Day.'
