Online Paywalls Are Here to Stay
Don't hold your breath for your favorite publishers to ditch their paywalls anytime soon.
Nearly half of newspapers (48%) currently have paywalls on their websites as do more than a fifth of magazines, according to a new survey from the Alliance for Audited Media (formerly the Audit Bureau of Circulations). In fact, many of those surveyed said they couldn't believe it took them so long to go that route.
