Kik Messenger Adds Multimedia With New Release

Mobile messaging app Kik Messenger launched two years ago into what at the time was a sea of messaging apps. Today it is one of just two big players in the space, sharing the spotlight with Whats App.

Things are going really well for us, Kik CEO Ted Livingston told Mashable. Now with over 30 million users, he says the app is adding an astounding 100k new users everyday.

Despite all that growth, Kik hasnt changed much since its launch two years ago. In fact, the company hasnt added a feature since March 2011 at SXSW, where it launched group messaging.
