Obamas Re-Election Was Big on Instagram, Too

Election Day set all kinds of new social media records on Facebook and Twitter -- but it turns out it was a pretty big night for Instagram, too.

Immediately following Barack Obama's victory, Instagram uploads spiked to 2.1 times their normal rate, according to Instagram's blog post.

"People from around the United States tagged more than 100,000 photos with #IVoted, and 150,000 photos with #election2012, allowing folks to share their own -- and tune into others -- election night experience in real-time," reads the post.
