Microsoft Gives Surface Tablets and Lumia 920 to Developers

REDMOND -- Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said today the company would give away a Surface tablet to all attendees of its annual developer conference, Build. He also threw in 100GB of free SkyDrive storage.

Ballmer tipped the SkyDrive storage first, then said if anyone was still skeptical that Microsoft wasn't "all in" on its new operating system, Windows 8, he had something else for the developers in attendance: a 32GB Surface, complete with Touch Cover. That product usually sells for $599.
