Usually, Apple products have a product lifecycle of one year. After the release of the iPad 4, that is no longer the case for your old iPad 3.

The iDevice trade-in site Gazelle saw a 450% increase after Apple released the iPad 4 on Tuesday, effectively discontinuing the sale of the third-generation iPad 3.

The announcement, along with the release of the anticipated iPad Mini, drew some criticizim among Apple fanboys and other tech commentators. There is, however, an upside. Gazelle will buy your 64GB iPad 3 for $495, leaving you with some profit if you decide to buy the iPad Mini for $329.
