Twitter Removes Anti-Semitic Tweets in France


Twitter on Friday removed a surge of anti-Semitic and racist tweets in France.

The tweets, labeled with the #UnBonJuif (#AGoodJew) hashtag, contained anti-Semitic jokes and pictures from the Holocaust. The phrase "UnBonJuif" was one of the most popular amongst French-speaking users of the site last week.

Twitter took action after the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF) threatened to take the issue to court. The group also reportedly sent Twitter a list of the exact posts they wanted removed.
