Location-Sharing App Highlight Gets Biggest Update Since Launch

The location-sharing app Highlight is getting its biggest update since its white-hot launch at SXSW in March.

Powered by information from your Facebook profile, Highlight lets you know when you're near people you know, as well as people with whom you share mutual friends or interests.

Thursday's update adds a number of new features, ranging from the ability to send a group message to people located nearby, to a feature that lets you leave LinkedIn-style recommendations and notes for your friends on the service.

If you're already a Highlight user, then the app is going to to feel like a whole new -- and improved -- experience.
