Netflix Subscribers Warm Up to TV Viewing [STUDY]




As Netflix attempts to foster more TV partnerships and bolster original programming, more subscribers prefer the service's television offering this year compared to 2011.

A new Nielsen study reveals 19% of respondents prefer using Netflix to watch TV programs -- up 8% since a year ago -- instead of movies or both equally.

Respondents who prefer movie viewing dipped from 53% to 47%, while people who reported they stream both TV and movies equally took a minor fall from 36% to 35%.

The Nielsen stats come on the heels of report saying Netflix is the most-watched "cable network on television" -- a bold analysis that's sure to raise the eyebrows of TV advertisers and Netflix's licens…
