Spice Girls Reunite for Musical, Internet Freaks Out
The Spice Girls are back. The girls reunited in London on Tuesday to announce an upcoming West End musical based on their music: Viva Forever!
The last time we properly saw the British girl group phenomenon was in 2008 for their reunion tour.
In response to their return and announcement, "Spice Girls" and "Viva Forever" were trending internationally on Twitter. (Trending alongside a promoted tweet from Katy Perry, who is a relative newcomer to pop stardom when compared to the Spice Girls.) As a testament to the enthusiasm that greeted their return, the topics continued to trend for hours after the announcement.
