Following its acquisition by SAY Media, ReadWriteWeb's COO Sean Ammirati is leaving the company to joinBirchmere Ventures, an early-stage VC firm with investments in cleantech, medical, and technology startups. Ammirati will be added to Birchmere's investment team and will serve as the lead partner for a new fund within the company called Birchmere Labs. Similar to betaworks, Birchmere Labs will be a studio fund where the firm will develop its own startups, however it will alsoserve as a seed fund, investing in early stage startups, and specifically those in the "community driven commerce" space.
