A Showcase of Captain America Artworks
If you have listened to your teacher's discussion during your World History subject, for sure you are quite familiar with the World War II. The war has affected many countries over the world that indeed it has created a mark in all of our history. In the midst of all the fighting during the war, the character 'Captain America' was born. Captain America is a fictional character published by Marvel Comics in the year 1941. The character has risen to fame and popularity during the wartime period due mainly to its patriotic fights against the Axis powers of World War II. After the war ended, however, the character's popularity decreased, finally disappearing by the 1950s but not after selling an estimated 210 million copies of "Captain America" comic books in several countries. At present, a film entitled 'Captain America: The First Avenger' is scheduled to be released on July 22, 2011.Prior to its release in movie theaters, we here have compiled several illustrations of Captain America's images as created by various designers.
